Stupid Alarm Clock!
Alarm clocks can be your friends, or your worst enemy. This morning, that evil thing up there-Okay, so not THAT particular thing up there (lol)-decided to NOT go off this morning. I had my morning all planned out. Get up at 7, take a shower, turn on the computer and play my Farmville 2 without waking up the kids until 7:45, getting them up, all cheery and excited for school, get them dressed, make breakfast, and out the door by 8:30. Sounds simple, right? Yeah, well, when the alarm clock decides it doesn’t want to go off at 7, 7:30, OR 7:45, well then….Then your morning goes like mine.
This is how my morning really went:
Drake: Mooooom! Is it a school day?
Me: Yes, Drake…What time is it?
Drake: 8:56!
Me:…..WHAT?
I wake up expecting to see two sleeping faces and Drake the only one awake which would explain why no one had woken ME up… Instead, everyone is awake, and no one thought it might be a good idea to wake mom up before 9 AM, you know, when school is starting? So, I go back and talk to David who is still sleeping in our nice warm bed…
Me: I really don’t want to have to drive all three kids to school, which means getting Gage out so I can sign them in, and then walking him back to the car. It’s cold outside, and I’m tired.
David: Okay, so don’t?
Me: But then they have an absence…
David: So? It’s ONE day…Didn’t your mom ever let you stay home ONE day?
Me: ….Yeah..Okay.
So, now it’s one more day with the kids, which I enjoy, but trying to keep three kids quiet is a lot more difficult than one. David works afternoons, so he’s still sleeping for probably another 30 minutes or so…if I can get the kids to stop playing with the noisy car track in the hallway. Good luck with that!
So, am I the only one who has days like this? I haven’t gotten up late in SO long, okay, well THIS late… *sigh* I wish I could go back to bed!
Mama Said There’d Be Days Like This…She just didn’t say I’d wish I could have a do over lol!
