See that picture right there ^? That should be a picture of my 10 year old bright and shiny and ready for a GREAT first day of 5th grade. Instead, it’s a picture of my morning…FAIL! lol
I set my alarm for 7 AM last night, but either it didn’t go off, or I instinctively shut it off and went back to sleep, I’m not sure, but what I am sure of, is that I didn’t get up until after 8:30. What time does Sierra’s bus get here? 8:30. Yeah, so, I get up, get her up, and we rush around like crazy people trying to get dressed, brush teeth, and get out the door, all while trying to be as quiet as possible, so we didn’t wake the boys up (David is at home, so I didn’t leave them here by themselves lol!).
So, we’re driving to school, and Sierra says, “Why didn’t you get up when your alarm went off, mommy?” Me: “…..It went off and you didn’t wake up and come wake me up?” Sierra: “Yeah, but I didn’t think it was late enough to get up, so I went back to sleep!” Me: “………”
*sigh*
So, I’ll be taking her picture TONIGHT, on her first day of coming home from school, I suppose. Let’s all hope tomorrow is better! And Monday…. Oh, Monday. Drake has to go to school too!

Good luck with tomorrow! My boys start school at 7:30 so had to be up WELL before 7 to get them up and there on time. DH got them up this morning because I was up most of the night taking care of a sick baby so I feel your pain!~

GIRL! Get that child an ALARM CLOCK! Styles has been getting himself up, dressed, and FED for school since 4th grade. Now, perhaps I’m a lazy parent. Perhaps I’m a bad mom. But WHATEVS! He wakes up, dresses himself (in pre-picked-out clothing, might I add), goes downstairs, pours himself a bowl of cereal and a glass of whatever to drink, takes his medicine, and about that time I’m ready to get up and drive him to school.
Give her some independence this year. She’ll appreciate it and if this happens again, you won’t have anyone to blame but HER! HA!

I would love to do that, however, she can’t ever hear the stupid thing go off lol. She can sleep with a cell phone going off right by her ear!!!! Plus, on Monday, Drake will start school as well, and he’s only 5. No way am I sleeping through that! lol
